Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the summer program located?
West Side: Mondays 4-5 pm @ Chicago Youth Boxing Club
2300 S Millard Ave, Chicago, IL 60623
How do I sign up for Fight Like a Girl?
You can register your student online through our registration page (click the blue button above). After submitting the form, your student will be added to the program location you selected.
My student was in a fall or spring program. Do we need to register again?
Yes. For now, a full registration is required for each session, including summer, so we can confirm your student's spot and keep their Team App information current. We're working toward a simpler process where returning families can just confirm rather than complete the full form again. Thanks for your patience as we improve this.
Once we register, what is next?
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email and be invited to the Box United Team App: Team App
This means you're confirmed to start participating. This is where you will find your student’s schedule, coach information, and program updates. Parents can also use the app to communicate directly with coaches and the Box United team.
When do sessions start?
Summer programming at our West Side location runs Mondays, 4:00 to 5:00 pm, from June 22 through August 3 at Chicago Youth Boxing Club. For all other locations, start dates depend on the site you selected during registration. Please check the schedule in the Team App for the exact start date, location, and time for your student's program (Fall dates will be announced soon).
What is the dress code?
Participants should arrive dressed in athletic clothing and ready to move. Required items include:
• Athletic sneakers
• Athletic top or t-shirt
• Sports bra when appropriate
• Hair ties to keep hair secured during activity
• Water bottle
For safety reasons, the following are not permitted:
• Flip flops
• Crocs
• Boots or Uggs
• See-through clothing
• Clothing with offensive language or imagery
• Skirts, unless worn for religious reasons or layered over athletic wear
How do I communicate with the coach?
All program communication happens through the Box United Team App. Parents can message coaches directly, receive program updates, and stay informed about schedules or reminders. The app is also the best place to notify coaches if a student will be absent or picked up late
Does my child need boxing experience?
No experience is required. Fight Like a Girl is designed for beginners and focuses on teaching basic boxing skills, fitness, and confidence building in a supportive environment.
Is the program safe?
Yes. Fight Like a Girl focuses on non-contact boxing fitness, strength training, and skill development. The goal is to help girls relieve stress, build confidence, and develop healthy habits through structured physical activity.
What ages can participate?
Fight Like a Girl programs are designed for girls ages 10 to 18. Programs are adapted to meet students at their skill and fitness level.
